THE TEAM IS RECRUITING STUDY PARTICIPANTS!

Refer below to see if you may be eligible to contribute to the study. Linked across a range of government stakeholders including URA and HDB, the sprawling study spans a household survey, archival research, design documentation, a documentary film, and more, in the hopes of discovering how HBW is built into homes and neighbourhoods, and what it builds for them.

Conference

If you are an academic or researcher, you may be interested to attend and/or submit a paper our conference on home-based work at the National University of Singapore, on 29-30 November 2023. Deadline for abstract submissions is 29 May 2023. Find out more and submit below!

Home-Based Worker Visits

If you are doing paid work at home, e.g., as a teleworker, freelance worker, home-based seller or service provider – we want to hear from you!

During a visit to your home, talk to us about your work, give us a short tour of your work-at-home set up, and earn $70 as compensation for your time and effort in our research. It will take no more than 2 hours of your time.

Freelancer and Online Job Platform User Interviews

If you are an online freelance worker, we also want to hear from you! Talk to us about your work and your experience with finding work on job platforms or social media (e.g., Upwork, Fiverr, LinkedIn) and earn $50 as compensation for your time and effort in our research. It will take 30 to 40 minutes of your time, Zoom or in-person.

We are interested in freelancers working in various fields, e.g., consultant, graphic designer, writer, marketing, programmer, data analyst, admin assistant, etc.

Neighbourhood and Provision Stakeholder Interviews

If you are part of a grassroots organisation, company, or other stakeholder that works to provide resources for those doing home-based work (provision of space, training, financial support, etc.), we want to hear from you! Email foundationsforhbw@nus.edu.sg with the title “Stakeholder Interview” to express your interest.
